Cover Plate – Drilling at Anbat project
Thani Stratex Resources (TSR) is delighted to announce first results from the new zone at Anbat within it’s 100% owned Hodine Concession in southern Eastern Desert of Egypt.
- TDAND-001 expands the shallow mineralization;
- 23.55m grading 4.38 g/t Au from 69.65m downhole;
- Zone confirmed on west side of intrusion;
- TDAND-002 includes 14.9m grading 1.9 g/t Au;
- New zone defined 500m east of TDAND-001 in the field.
As reported in update of 16th January 2017, a new geological model for the mineralization at Anbat had defined a shallow zone of gold mineralization hosted by a silica-albite altered felsic rock. TDAND-001 as shown in Figure 1 had intersected similar zone of felsic rock as drilled to the east of previous intersections.
TDAND-001 had confirmed a broad width of felsic porphyry which now assays:
58.06m grading 2.09 g/t Au from 47.6m with
23.55m grading 4.38 g/t Au from 69.65m
Including 4m grading 12.59 g/t Au from 74m.
TDAND-002 drilled on the west side of the intrusive stock 500m west of TAND-001
as shown in Figure 1 also intersected the felsic zone and returned:
12.9m grading 0.84 g/t Au from 111m; and
14.5m grading 1.92 g/t Au from 136.7m.
These results shows continuity of mineralization from:
AND-008 – 51m grading 1.29 g/t Au from 22m
AND-023 – 45m grading 1.74 g/t Au from 43m and
AND-021 – 11m grading 1.26 g/t Au from 46m.
Figure 1 – Section Line covering TDAND-02, AND-14, 7, 8, 23, and 21 and TDAND 01 N.B. width of section is 640 metres.
Holes TDAND-003, 004 and 005 confirmed the new geometry of the zone and spectacular examples of visible gold were observed in hole 004 (Plate I).
Results are awaited.
Field work defined a large altered zone of the felsic porphyry 500m east of TDAND-001. The entire area will be re-mapped and previous core will be transported to the Anbat camp for re-logging and interpretation.

Commenting David Hall, C.E.O. said “these results are hugely encouraging and show the continuity of the zone now with significant gold mineralization over 500m from east to west and at a level ideal for open pit exploitation. We eagerly await the results of our remaining holes that likewise confirmed geologically the extension of this gold zone north and south and remaining open in all directions. During field work we found a large area of the mineralized porphyry some 500m east of TDAND-001 which was not recognized as linked to the mineralization in the drill holes. We will review all previous drill core in the light of the new model and initiate new geological mapping to assist with further drill targeting. Anbat has rapidly developed into an exciting new gold play with huge upside and we will re-commence drilling to define it’s full potential in terms of size and grade in March with view to a resource estimate as soon as possible. Anbat is only 4 kms from our new Anbat North discovery thus confirming at least 2 centers of mineralization within this 12 km gold trend”.
Drilling is been undertaken by Capital Drilling (Egypt) Ltd using Atlas Copco CT14 Truck mounted Diamond Rig.
Sampling, assaying, and QA/QC
TSR sampling of outcropping rocks, drill core, and other geological materials conforms to industry-wide good practice, with chain of custody being observed for all samples. Gold analysis for material sampled in this campaign is undertaken by ALS Chemex laboratory in Romania. The Company maintains QA/QC on all analytical work via the use of certified reference materials, field duplicates, and blank samples in addition to monitoring of internal laboratory check-analyses.
